Your neighbourhood policing team is reminding residents to remain vigilant against courier fraud scams, where criminals impersonate police officers or other trusted professionals in an attempt to steal money or personal information.
Fraudsters may contact you by telephone and claim that your personal details have been compromised, that someone has been arrested using your identity, or that your bank account is at risk. In some cases, they may ask whether you hold cryptocurrency or encourage you to move funds to protect them.
Remember: The Police Will Never Ask You To:
❌ Transfer money to a "safe account"
If you receive a call of this nature, end the call immediately. Do not provide any personal or financial information. Contact your bank using a trusted telephone number from an official source and seek advice.
